We are the "Estudiantina de Medicina de Barcelona", a folkloric group established in 1958, our members are all students from different Health Sciences Schools from Barcelona (Medicine, BioScience, Odontology, Physiotherapy, Nursery,..). The origin of that folklore comes from the Middle Age, the time of troubadours, so we dress exactly like them: black velvet clothes and a long cloak. We also keep their essence; we actually consider ourselves as modern troubadours who play serenades under the balcony of a lady or play around the streets in a parade.

Traditionally our songs talk about love, but we got a lot of funny and joking songs as well, starting from boleros, going through pasodobles and finishing in rancheras. We perform in Spanish, Catalan, French and English. On our vacation times, we try to export our culture around the world so we love to travel and meet new people, cultures and learn as much as we can from the world. On our cloaks we sew the emblems of all the places we have visited. We are polite, but kind of crazy, I guess is the kind of Spanish craziness everybody knows about… so we quickly transform that quiet dinner into a party, where we make our ritual toast, we make you sing, dance, laugh and spread the joy everywhere. That’s why we’re always present in all kind of big celebrations such as: weddings, communions, baptisms, anniversaries, corporate events, bachelors party... all sort of events that need some magic, fun, joy and, at the same time, romanticism.
